Patrick Bracewell

Chairman & CEO

Patrick Bracewell is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Forge. Before joining Forge in 2011, he held the position of Vice President in the insurance investment banking group at Friedman, Billings, Ramsey & Co., Inc., a middle-market investment banking firm. Mr. Bracewell also serves as a Director of Trustar Bank and Frederick Mutual Insurance Company. He graduated from Bowdoin College with an A.B. in Economics and History. 

Shaza Andersen

Director

Shaza Andersen has been a Director at Forge since 2011. She is also the Chief Executive Officer and a Director of Trustar Bank, a position she has held since its formation in 2019. Prior to that, Ms. Andersen served as Vice Chair of the Board at Sandy Spring Bank. She founded and led WashingtonFirst Bank, which grew from a single branch to over $2 billion in assets with 19 branches across Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. In 2018, Ms. Andersen orchestrated the sale of WashingtonFirst Bankshares, Inc. to Sandy Spring Bancorp for $489 million (2.6x tangible book value). She serves on the FDIC Advisory Committee on Community Banking and has been involved in various other organizations dedicated to children, entrepreneurship, and education in the Greater Washington area.

Joseph Bracewell

Joseph Bracewell

Joseph Bracewell has been a Director at Forge since 2013. He also serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors at Trustar Bank since 2019. With over 50 years in the banking industry, Mr. Bracewell has been involved in organizing and managing seven community banks in Texas and Washington, D.C. Notably, he held leadership positions such as Chairman, President, and CEO at West University Bank, NA in Houston and Century National Bank in Washington, D.C. Additionally, Mr. Bracewell has a legal background, having been a partner at McKee Nelson LLP. He graduated from Harvard University with an A.B. cum laude in applied mathematics and holds an M.B.A. from Stanford University, a J.D. summa cum laude from American University, and a Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Fred Brewer has served as a Director at Forge since 1984. Mr. Brewer previously served as Chairman of Forge Insurance Company until 2011 and was President of Forge Insurance Company until November 2014. In addition, Mr. Brewer was also the Chairman and President of Forge Risk Management, Inc. until 2011. Mr. Brewer has significant experience in underwriting, legal, claims, and insurance company operations. Earlier in his career, Mr. Brewer served as Deputy Superintendent and Actuary of the District of Columbia Department of Insurance, Securities and Banking where he was responsible for the regulation of property and casualty insurance rates, rules and policy forms, assigned risk plans, statistical bureaus, and insurance consumer complaints. Mr. Brewer received his B.S. from Southeast Missouri State University and is a licensed insurance producer.

Thomas Hampton

Thomas Hampton

Director

Thomas Hampton serves as a Director at Forge since 2021. He is currently a Principal at TE Hampton Consulting, an insurance regulatory consulting firm. Previously, Mr. Hampton worked as a Senior Advisor at Dentons LLP, a multinational law firm, specializing in insurance practice. His expertise includes advising insurance companies and financial services firms on regulatory matters, product filings, market conduct issues, and financial reporting procedures. Mr. Hampton also provides guidance to non-insurance clients operating in the industry. His background includes serving as Commissioner for the District of Columbia Department of Insurance, Securities, and Banking, where he oversaw financial services regulation. Additionally, he played key roles in NAIC and NASAA committees, focusing on financial regulation, life insurance, and broker-dealer supervision. Mr. Hampton holds a BBA in Accounting from North Carolina Central University and an M.B.A. from St. John’s University in New York.

James Rommel

James Roumell

Director

James Roumell has served as a Director at Forge since 2017. Mr. Roumell is a Founder, Partner, and Portfolio Manager of Roumell Asset Management, LLC, the investment advisor for Roumell Opportunistic Value Fund (RAMSX). Previously, Mr. Roumell was a Registered Principal at Raymond James Financial Services, Inc. Mr. Roumell is a graduate of Wayne State University.

Jason Wolfe

Jason Wolfe

Director

Jason Wolfe has served as a Director at Forge since 2011. He is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Mutual Capital Investment Advisors, LLC, which advises Mutual Capital Investment Fund, LP, a fund focused on providing capital to mutual insurance companies in the U.S. property and casualty insurance segment. Previously, he served as a Managing Director at Paragon Capital Group, LLC, where he specialized in merger and acquisition advisory and capital raising services for insurance companies and other financial services businesses. Mr. Wolfe holds a B.S. in chemical engineering from Case Western Reserve University.
